Madison Marquette Appoints Phillip Akins New Chief Financial Officer

WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 1st, 2008) – Madison Marquette announced today that Phillip Akins, who joined the company in June 2006 as the Chief Accounting Officer, has been named Chief Financial Officer.

As Chief Financial Officer, Phil Akins will oversee corporate finance, accounting and Fund administration activities as well as growing the company's existing network of banking and financial relationships.

“We are delighted that Phil’s role has expanded, and look forward to his deep involvement in helping us continue to grow our company,” said Chief Operating Officer Peter Jun.

An Australian native, Akins earned his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Melbourne before beginning his career at Price Waterhouse in 1988 where he served as Assistant Manager of Audit and Business Services. After becoming a Chartered Accountant (ACA), he transferred to the Washington, D.C. office prior to joining Equant in 1998, where he served as the Controller.

Before joining Madison Marquette in 2006, Akins was appointed the Controller of Clark Construction group in 2004 where he was responsible for the financial operations, accounting policies and financial reporting. As the Chief Accounting officer for Madison Marquette, Akins was responsible for financial reporting, accounting systems and policies for the group of companies.
